Smart Antenna Testing

The testing of smart antenna array performance requires emulation of realistic directional radio channels where the direction of arrival is precisely known. Correct system performance can be verified by comparing estimated and emulated signal directions. Spatial channel modeling and emulation is easy and straightforward with EB Propsim channel modeling tools. Channel modeling can be based on direction of arrival, direction of arrival spread, antenna geometry or correlation between channels (complex correlation matrix modeling).
