The Solution for Dynamic MIMO, Beamforming and Smart Antenna Testing - Geometric Channel Modeling Application
The evolution of LTE and 802.11 technologies will push the peak data rates to the next level. This is achieved by using adaptive radio links and multi-antenna technologies. To meet the technical challenges and
time-to-market target, EB has developed the enhanced modeling capability for beamforming, MIMO, multi-user MIMO and smart antenna testing.

Solution Overview
EB Propsim with Geometric Channel Modeling Application enables the network vendors and operators to test base station and network algorithms, link adaptivity and smart antenna solutions in non-stationary radio channel environment.
The phase accurate multi-channel emulation capability allows reproducing directional channel characteristics for beamforming and multi-user MIMO scenarios. System designers can use antenna array patterns coming with
the application or use their own simulated or measured antenna beam patterns.
Features:
- Intuitive and easy to use graphical user interface
- With help of wizards it allows users to create models without deep experience in channel modeling
- SCME*, WINNER** and IMT-Advanced*** channel models with elevation extension
- Create test scenarios with multiple base stations and/or users for testing enhanced transmission schemes like CoMP introduced in 3GPP Rel.10 or multi-user MIMO
- 3D modeling engine allows to use antenna tilting, 3D antenna patterns, 3D movement and locations
- User defined parameters including:
- antenna arrays, geometries and orientations
- MS locations, movement and speed profiles for wanted and interfering users
- multipath propagation conditions
*) SCME stands for Spatial Channel Model Extended and is one of the channel models in LTE
**) WINNER+ stands for Wireless World Initiative New Radio+ and is a consortium to develop, optimize and evaluate IMT-Advanced -compliant technologies
***) IMT-Advanced stands for International Mobile Telecommunications Advanced and is one of the standards for LTE
