Elektrobit's Business Arrangements and Personnel Reductions
Elektrobit rationalises its operations through business arrangements and starts personnel negotiations for cutting some 55 jobs.

The arrangements support Elektrobit's new strategy defined in the spring 2006, according to which the company focuses on two businesses: the Wireless Communications Solutions business segment and the Automotive Software business segment.
The business arrangements strengthen especially the Production Solutions and the System Test business units (the Test and Automation segment), which serve the mobile terminal industry. Elektrobit's plan is to redeploy the manufacturing of the production automation equipment from Kuopio to China and Estonia and centre the product development of the System Test business unit to the Oulu area. In addition, Elektrobit is planning to discontinue the space business, which has operated as a part of the Wireless Communications business segment.

The negotiations concern some 33 people in the Production Solutions business unit mainly in the Kuopio offices and some thirteen people in the System Test business unit in Salo. When it comes to the space business, the negotiations concern not more than nine people in the Kauniainen offices. Work can be offered to a part of the personnel, whom the negotiations concern, in Elektrobit's other functions.
