OULU, Finland, January 20, 2009 — Discover the next big wireless experience at Mobile World Congress with EB, Elektrobit Corporation (OMX: EBC1V) a developer of cutting-edge embedded technology solutions for automotive and wireless industries.
Over the past 20-years, EB has engaged in a collaborative approach with customers and partners to deliver wireless value; having brought numerous unique and commercially successful mobile devices to market for leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). With expertise in multi-radio and wireless emerging technologies, EB has worked across the wireless value chain to accelerate the availability of innovative mobile devices and infrastructure solutions; turning wireless technology into enriching end-user experiences.
In Hall 1, Stand 1F07, EB will reveal news for the highly-anticipated Mobile Internet Device (MID) market, as well as reference designs for integrated satellite-terrestrial communications, including its recently announced satellite-terrestrial Connectivity Module proof of concept and smartphone PDA.
The Company will also demonstrate new infrastructure basestation solutions for mobile WiMAX. With EB's mobile WiMAX basestation framework, complemented with 3rd party components, OEMs can achieve faster time to market, and enable a diverse customer base to fulfill their mobile WiMAX basestation needs. Included in the demo will be EB's next-generation radio channel emulator, performing live-replication of the mobile WiMAX environment.
These demonstrations are proof-points for the value and innovation EB's offering (wireless device, platform and infrastructure module development, radio channel emulators, R&D services) delivers to its customers.
'As a trusted innovation partner to the global wireless value chain, we engineer creative wireless ecosystems that turn wireless technology into value-driven, enriching mobile experiences,' said Ari Virtanen, executive vice president, EB Wireless Solutions. 'We look forward to exhibiting at this year's Mobile World Congress, where we will highlight our industry relationships and demonstrate new market-moving wireless reference device and infrastructure modules – that are poised to increase our customers' market competitiveness and revenue-potential.'
The GSMA Mobile World Congress combines the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry with a stimulating and insightful congress that brings together prominent leaders and personalities from mobile operators and equipment vendors, as well as Internet and entertainment professionals.
